ATHENS, CITY UNKNOWN
OLD FOLKS AT HOME
TOO LAZY FOR A SONGATHENS
Tuesday early morning
3 AT REST
The thunder that denotes electric storm,
will raise nightly shapes with your form,
all of them just like you,
the dampness will possess some of your salt,
the wetness will not dare to put a halt,
to what appears as new.
I'm thinking in my living-room, at rest,
no need to put my eyes to the test,
there are no ghosts in here,
this rain by your name I can call,
but as a trick it seems to me too small,
to force you to come near.
As it subsides I can feel you going,
it's not too bad, but just a bit annoying,
I'm lazy for a song,
so, left with my old choices I'll proceed,
with due respect to you, as human need,
I hope it can't go wrong.
